Connect Pastok to Claude, ChatGPT and Other AI Tools

Pastok MCP lets your AI tools reach what you have recently captured. Once connected you can search recent recordings, pull up a specific day, ask what you committed to in a conversation, or draft a follow-up from what was actually said — without leaving the tool you are in or pasting anything by hand.

Connecting is a one-time setup per tool, done through browser sign-in. There is nothing to install.

What your AI tools can access

Pastok MCP connects as you, through your browser. It reaches recent data from the same account you use in the app, and nothing else.

DataWhat's included
TranscriptsRecent recording transcripts, with timestamps and speaker labels. Searchable by meaning or by date range.
Daily reportsThe full report for a recent day, or one section on its own: Reflection, Activity, Action Board, Notepad, Communication.
MemoriesThe facts and preferences Pastok has saved about you — the same ones it uses when writing your summaries.

MCP provides transcript and daily report data from the last seven days. For anything older, use the Chat agent in Pastok.

Three things worth knowing before you connect anything:

  • It is read-only. Nothing reachable through MCP can start a recording, delete one, or edit a report. Changes still happen in Pastok.
  • It never receives audio. Only text: transcripts, summaries, memories.
  • Each tool is authorized separately. Connecting Pastok in Claude does nothing for ChatGPT. Every tool gets its own approval, which you can revoke on its own.

The account your AI tool is signed into does not matter. What counts is the Pastok account you sign into during setup.

How to connect

You will need a Pastok account with existing recordings, since a new account with nothing captured yet returns empty results, and an AI tool that supports remote MCP servers with browser sign-in.

Your MCP URL is https://app.pastok.com/mcp. It is the same for everyone and for every device, and it is not a secret — authorization happens when you sign in during setup, not through the URL.

Open Settings → MCP Integration for the step-by-step for each tool. Pick your tool's tab — Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex or Cursor — and follow the steps there. Commands and config snippets on that page copy with one click and stay current with the version you are running, which is why they live there rather than here.

Every tool's setup ends the same way: a browser window opens, you sign into Pastok, you approve the connection. If that page tells you MCP access is not enabled on your account, setup will not complete — email [email protected] and we will sort it out.

Connecting a tool that is not listed

Anything that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP with browser sign-in will work. Add the MCP URL as a remote server and choose browser authentication when prompted.

If your tool asks for a client ID and client secret, leave both blank. Pastok registers your client automatically. Some platforms display these fields as though they are required; they are not.

What you can ask for

Your AI tool discovers everything below automatically. You never have to name a tool or learn a command — ask in plain language and it works out what to fetch.

ToolWhat it doesExample
search_transcriptsSearches your recent recordings by meaning rather than exact wording. Can also browse a date range with no search term.Find where I talked about Q4 pricing
get_transcriptA full day's transcript with timestamps and speaker labels. Takes today, yesterday, or a recent date.Show me yesterday's transcript
list_transcript_daysWhich recent days have recordings. Useful for checking what exists before asking for detail.Which days do I have recordings for?
get_daily_reportThe complete daily report, every section combined.Summarize Monday in three bullets
get_reflection, get_activity, get_action_board, get_notepad, get_communicationOne section of the daily report on its own. Faster and more focused than pulling the whole thing. What did I promise people this week?
list_memoriesEverything Pastok has saved about you. What do you remember about me?

An empty result usually means there is no data for that date rather than a failure. Ask which days have recordings if you are not sure.

Managing your connections

Everything you have connected is listed under Authorized clients on the MCP Integration settings page, along with when you connected it and when it last pulled anything.

Revoke cuts that tool off immediately. Your other tools keep working, and you can set it up again later. It is worth reviewing this list occasionally and revoking anything you no longer use.

Using an API key instead

Browser sign-in is the right path for every tool above. An API key is for the exception: a custom script or automation platform that cannot open a browser to sign in.

You can create one at the bottom of the settings page. Before you do, know that a key can read your transcripts, reports and memories, so treat it like a password. Pastok shows it once and cannot show it again, and it expires on a date shown next to the key — create a replacement and revoke the old one before that date to avoid an outage.

If something is not working

Your AI tool cannot find any recordings

Usually the wrong Pastok account. Ask your assistant which Pastok account it is connected to and check the email. If it is wrong, revoke the connection in settings and set it up again.

Claude is a special case here. It keeps your browser session alive and skips the login screen, so a normal reconnect lands on the same wrong account. Sign into Claude in a private or incognito window and reconnect from there — that forces a real login and lets you pick the right account.

If the account is right and it still finds nothing, check whether recordings actually exist for the dates you are asking about.

Claude shows Pastok but says “No tools available”

The connection went stale. On claude.ai in a browser — not the desktop app — go to Connectors, disconnect Pastok, then reconnect without navigating away from the page.

It worked before and stopped

Authorizations expire. Run through your tool's setup steps again from the settings page.

Connected in one tool, missing in another

Expected. Each tool needs its own setup. Anything else, email [email protected] with the tool you are using, what you asked, what came back, and the date you were asking about.
